time and energy. Some of the best fruit costumes are
grapes and peaches.
To make a grape costume, gather a green leotard and
green tights. Then take large Styrofoam balls and paint
them purple. Sew them onto the leotard. You will need to
glue some of them onto each other as you fill up the
leotard. This is an extremely creative outfit if you
want to dress like a fruit. Costumes for bananas,
strawberries, and oranges are often found at rental
stores, so if you like this idea, check out your local
vendors.
Sandwich
The sandwich costume is a perfect way to stand out in a
crowd. To pull this off you will need two large pieces
of cardboard or Styrofoam. Cut them out in the shape of
two pieces of bread (one for the front and one for the
back). Then paint them to look like bread. Thick
Styrofoam works best because you can create a “crust”.
After painting the bread, connect the two so that they
will hang on your shoulders using string.
Flip the bread over so that the inner part shows and
using colored paper, glue on pieces of “lettuce”,
“tomato” and “cheese”. These will be visible from the
other side if you overlap them correctly. Dress the rest
of your body in all black to allow emphasis on the
artwork of the costume. This is a great costume that
will leave people talking about you for a while.
Beverage
If you want to try a beverage costume, consider dressing
up as a can of soda or beer. To get this look, gather
several flimsy pieces of poster board and paint. Staple
the poster board together in a can shape and simply
paint it to look like your favorite beverage. This is a
great way to twist up the food Halloween costume theme.
It can be done with any brand as long as you paint it
accordingly.
